A sponsored film is made by a particular sponsor for a specific purpose other than specifically as a work of art: the films were designed to serve a specific pragmatic purpose for a limited time. This category will often include educational films that were either sponsored by a corporation and/or were made in collaboration with an educational or cultural heritage institution. For more on sponsored films, see The Field Guide to Sponsored Films by Rick Prelinger.
