Description: 

Somewhat pixelated footage opens with a wooden sign that reads “Anno Domini 1974” off which a large bell hangs, sign below reads “San Francisco de Assisi Church”, camera pulls back to show the church’s facade, Nambé Falls and Lake Recreation Area, a closer view of the falls, quick shots of perhaps the plaza, then camera goes black for a minute and returns to the back of an older Pueblo man speaking into a microphone to the crowd that’s passing by, pulling up in cars, after speaking he turns and passes the camera, then a younger man steps forward to take the mic; camera switches to a closer view of a man (Nambé Pueblo Governor Joe Garcia) seated and reading a document into a mic, others sit and stand nearby, New Scene: two older men stand together to drum and chant in the plaza near a tree, a man walks up and ties something to the tree, pan of the plaza and procession of dancers in ceremonial clothes come out of the church and perform in the plaza until about 21 minutes in when they return to the church, camera returns to the two drummers; New Scene: more of the plaza and people; at about 21:45, the two singers/drummers return, but they are now four men and a little boy, they return to the tree and then another procession of buffalo and antelope or deer dancers enters the plaza to perform, closer views of a young woman dancer and a buffalo dancer with the crowd beyond, then back to the group; closer views of the antelope dancers, the group, etc. until the end of tape.
