Intertribal/Mixed Community

We created this "community" for those films that do not focus on one particular tribe, but on a variety of tribal communities.

Professional cameramen and tourists alike flocked to intertribal parades, powwows, and rodeos to capture the spectacle of pan-Indian gatherings. While public performance was at the heart of these activities, many filmmakers made little distinction among the peoples present and viewed the events solely as exotic.  Today, these films can provide useful records of individuals and groups that participated in representing their nations, clans, or clubs, as well as showing past examples of clothing and performance designed for public audiences.
